On February 20, 2014 Sarah Elizabeth Jones, 27, was tragically killed and several others injured by a train while filming the movie Midnight Rider, a biopic about musician Gregg Allman. Sarah’s death prompted an outpouring of grief in the movie industry and galvanized film crew members throughout the entertainment industry, highlighting longstanding concerns about film set safety.
The Sarah Jones Film Foundation was founded to live out the call to "Never Forget, Never Again". To Never Forget what happened to Sarah Jones as a result of not taking proper steps to guard the safety of cast and crew while on film sets. To Never Again let this happen.
Why: There was no need for Sarah Jones to die making a movie.
What: To make it safe to work on a film set.
How: Promote set safety awareness. Build safety into the core of the filmmaking process. Educate. Empower cast and crew to speak up if they have questions about there safety.
